Poco, A Brand which Won a Lot of Hearts Last Year because of its crazily priced Poco F1 which featured a Snapdragon 845, Liquid Cooling Technology, Ir Face Unlock, UFS 2.1 Storage and a lot more at just $299!
Check out this Page to Know More About Poco Specifications just in case you are living under a Rock.
While the Smartphone was Criticised earlier because of its Lack of Widevine L1 support, Poco has Finally Managed to Bring Widevine L1 certification to POCO F1 via OTA in their Latest Stable Update(MIUI 10.3.4).
Now This is Really a Big Deal as Poco is the world’s First company to Provide smartphone Widevine L patch via OTA as it is said to be impossible via OTA Update.
Just in case you are wondering, Widevine L1 is necessary to stream Encrypted Media on FHD Resolution such as Streaming Movies/Shows on Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hotstar, etc.
Here we are listing some of the top highlighted features that MIUI 10.3.4 Brings to your Poco!
4K@60 FPS Video Recording
When it comes to Flagship Phones, 4K@60Fps video recording is one feature that separates premium phones from Mid-Range Phones.
The reason that Mid-Range phones don’t have 4k@60fps video recording is that their Processor isn’t capable of shooting at such high frame rate at 4K Resolution.
While the Snapdragon 845 does support 4k@60fps video recording, it wasn’t earlier, but now has been enabled With the Latest Update.
And I have been testing 4k@60fps since last 2 weeks, This has been of the most underrated features that POCO can offer.
I Almost shot footage for about 3-4 hours Under Direct Sunlight(40º Celcius) and still, the battery lasted till I reached home and Watched some Shows.
Game Turbo Mode
Spoiler Alert: It doesn’t work as of now even in stable version!
Game Turbo mode is a step further from Poco to make people realize that you don’t have to spend $600-$700 on a Dedicated Gaming Phone to experience Gaming at high resolution at High Frame rates.
However, Just like the last update, Pubg has become much worse now to play.
Am personally on MIUI 10 9.3.21(Beta) which is exceptionally well with all the features mentioned and fewer Bugs.
Moreover, PUBG gameplay is Smooth as Silk.
There isn’t anything much to talk about Widevine L1 as we have already covered a lot above.
Here is how you can enable Widevine L1 On Poco After Successfully upgrading to MIUI 10.3.4
At least one fingerprint should be enrolled
Go to Settings -> Lock screen & password -> Manage fingerprints -> Fingerprint payments -> Widevine (L1) – Click the “Certificate” button to download Widevine certificate
Do Note that You Should have a Locked Bootloader, If you don’t know what it is, don’t worry you are already having a locked bootloader.
Better Notch Management and Hide Notch Option
After the update, You will notice two new options for Hiding the notch and managing notch for apps.
While you might be clear that you can hide the notch with the first option, the second one lets you enable notch to be shown in apps.
For example, MX player users will understand that it doesn’t support notch support like Youtube while playing videos, With the new notch app management option you can easily enable MX player to support Notch and play videos with a notch over them.
Face Unlock for App Lock
Now users can use their face to unlock locked app apart from just using the fingerprint. This was a much-needed feature considering that Poco comes with a dedicated face unlock Hardware.
Apart from these, there are many framework and bug improvements.
However, PUBG players aren’t suggested to update as the PUBG performance still sucks on this update.
