This Year, Nokia has topped the list for Android Manufacturers in terms of providing Updates. And that was very much expected considering the fact that HMD Global is known for updating each of their Smartphone for at least 3-Years regardless of the smartphone price.
Now they are back with Nokia 7.2 which is Nokia’s Latest Budget Smartphone offering!
So is it any good? Or HMD Global failed to deliver?
In this article, we will be reviewing and telling you everything that you need to know about this Nokia 7.2!
The all-new Nokia 7.2 comes with Snapdragon 660 clocked at 2.2Ghz coupled with 4GB of Ram and 64GB of Internal Storage for the base variant whereas the top variant comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of Internal Storage.
Adreno 512 is said to be the GPU here.
The device will be running on Android 9.0 Pie out of the box with Stock Android On top.
And all of this is powered by 3500mAh battery which does not support fast charging and comes with a 10W Charger.
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 is a 64-Bit Octa-Core Processor clocked at 2.2Ghz with Kryo 260 Cores and Built on 14nm FinFet Process technology.
Snapdragon 660 comes with an AIE(Artificial Intelligence Engine) built-in to improve user experience and overall performance of the phone.
Qualcomm Hexagon 680 is used as DSP (Digital Signal Processor).
On the front, there is a 6.3-inches 19:9 FHD+ IPS LCD Display with Dew-Drop Notch on top and a Chin with Nokia Branding on the bottom protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
While other Brands are trying to provide a complete Bezel-less Display, Nokia seems to be obsessed with Bottom Chins.
On the back, there is Triple Camera Setup, Fingerprint Sensor and Nokia Branding.
Apart from which, the back is completely made up of glass.
We simply cannot argue on the fact that Nokia phones provide the best Build quality you can ever get with any other smartphone out there.
There is a Triple Camera setup on the back consisting of a 48-Megapixel Sony IMX 586 with an aperture of f/1.8, 8-Megapixel f/2.2 Ultra-Wide Shooter and a 5-Megapixel Depth Sensor.
Nokia has also not compromised on optics at all with Zeiss Optics.
Just in case if you are not familiar, ‘Zeiss Optics’ is known for one of the best Optics out there.
For Selfies, there is a 20-Megapixel f/2.2 aperture with Zeiss Optics.
Although we can only comment on camera performance after testing it thoroughly.
Nokia 7.2 Price in India is expected to be around ₹17000.
Though we cannot comment on the exact pricing before the official India Launch.
This device is yet to be launched in India and without the exact pricing, it is tough to comment on its price to performance ratio.
At an expected price of ₹17000, the device will directly be competing with Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro and Realme 5 Pro.
And at that price, Redmi Note 8 Pro and Realme 5 Pro are still around ₹3000 cheaper.
Whereas, Redmi Note 8 Pro is offering Mediatek G90T which offers an AnTuTu score of around 260K which is kind of comparable to Snapdragon 845 with an AnTuTu of around 300K.
Even the Realme 5 Pro isn’t much far behind with Snapdragon 712 with an AnTuTu score around 185k.
But Snapdragon 660 on Nokia 7.2, is way too far behind and was usually offered with Phones costing around ₹10000 that too last year.
And we will already be into 2020 soon.
So in terms of performance and Camera, there is no way Nokia 7.2 can even stand a chance against its competition.
So what do we think about Nokia 7.2 is that you should actually buy it if only Nokia could price it around ₹10k.
But Nokia won’t do that which makes it easy to skip Nokia this time.
Don’t get us wrong, Nokia 7.2 isn’t a bad smartphone but the fact that it offers a year-old Snapdragon 660 for a price segment in which you can easily get Phones offering better camera and even much better performance with noticeable differences.
