While Everyone loved the Xiaomi ‘A’ Series because of having a Killer combination of Xiaomi’s Competitive specs and Stock Android, Xiaomi literally ruined the ‘A’ Series with Mi A2 and now it seems that they are going to kill their ‘A’ Series with the all-new Mi A3!
In this article, we are going to Review the all-new Mi A3.
The all-new Mi A3 comes with a Snapdragon 665 SoC coupled with 4GB of Ram and 64GB of Internal Storage for the base variant, whereas the top variant comes with 6GB of Ram and 128GB of Internal storage.
The device will be running on Android 9.0 Pie under the Android One programme.
And all of this is Powered by a 4030Mah Battery which is more of an Industry-standard these days.
Fast Charging is supported too at 18W.
Do note that Even though 18W Fast Charging is Supported, Xiaomi has bundled only a 10W Charger in the box
Now While it all seems good, it isn’t.
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 665 is a 64-Bit Octa-Core Processor clocked at 2.0Ghz with Kryo 260 Cores and Built on 11nm FinFet Process technology.
Snapdragon 665 comes with an AIE(Artificial Intelligence Engine) built-in to improve user experience and overall performance of the phone.
Qualcomm Hexagon 685 is used as DSP (Digital Signal Processor).
And Adreno 610 as GPU.
There is 6.08-inches HD+ 720p AMOLED Display on the front with a Dot Notch on the top.
This dot notch is holding a 32-Megapixel Shooter for selfies.
Whereas on the back, the device features a Triple-camera Setup, Mi Branding.
The Back is completely made up of glass and protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
Xiaomi has included a Headphone Jack this time along with USB Type-C Port for charging.
It is worth noting that Type-C Port has always been there in ‘A’ series since the launch of Mi A1.
Although they Omitted Headphone Jack with the Mi A2, it is back with Mi A3 probably because of the criticism they faced.
On the back, there is a 48-Megapixel Sony IMX 586 Regular Shooter with an Aperture of f.1/79, an 8-Megapixel Wide Angle Shooter with an aperture of f/2.4 and a 2-Megapixel Shooter for Depth Sensing.
Camera Performance is decent and very much close to Redmi Note 7 Pro which was launched earlier this year.
Whereas on the front, there is a 32-Megapixel Shooter for Selfies.
That’s all we have got for Camera as of now as there is nothing very special about it.
It performs decently for the price tag just like its competitors and other phones which are using the same Sony IMX 586 Sensor.
Xiaomi’s latest Midrange device is priced at a starting price of ₹12,999 in India for the base variant, while the pricing goes up to ₹15,999 for the top-end variant.
Considering the price point and specifications, there is no way that Mi A3 can even survive.
This is the biggest disaster of Xiaomi in 2019.
Like at the price of ₹15,999 even the most renowned phones available in the market are offering at least Snapdragon 675 or Snapdragon 710 which are way superior to the Snapdragon 665.
Although Snapdragon 665 isn’t slow at all.
But considering the fact that it comes with a 720p display, it makes us difficult to recommend even if the price was set around ₹9,999.
It is definitely not suggested to buy the Mi A3 at all. Instead of this, we highly recommend you to buy a RealMe X which offers a completely bezel-less AMOLED display, better camera and better processor.
Just in case if you are looking tto get a phone with Stock Android Experience, you can anytime buy a Redmi note7 Pro and Flash a Custom ROM on it which takes a bit of time but at least the Redmi Note 7 Pro comes with a better 1080p Display instead of poor 720p present on the Mi A3.
At the same time, it is AMOLED too so you are not missing on that.
