Now we have a New Contender to this round by Xiaomi being called as Black Shark 2 which is a successor of Black Shark launched last Year.
This time, Xiaomi is Bringing Black Shark 2 to India as well, unlike last year.
So is it Worthy enough to spend ₹39,999 on a Dedicated Gaming Smartphone instead of buying any other flagship phone?
Let’s find out in this article!
The all-new Black Shark comes with a Snapdragon 855 coupled with 6GB of Ram and 128GB of Internal Storage for the base and variant, while the top variant comes with 12GB of Ram and 256GB of Ram.
Do note that there is no variant for 8GB of Ram.
The device will be running on Android 9.0 Pie with Stock Android on Top.
The UI is completely Clean as Android Should be without any bloatware.
Removing MIUI from this smartphone was the best decision Xiaomi could ever took.
Adreno 640 is said to be the GPU here.
And all of this is powered by a 4000mAh battery which does support fast charging at 27W.
Qualcomm’s latest flagship offering Snapdragon 855 is a 64-Bit Octa-Core Processor with Eight Kryo-485 Cores clocked at 2.84Ghz and built on 7nm Process technology.
This Chipset does support 5G Technology which is yet to be launched in India but there is no word by the company if the Black Shark will support it or not.
GPU used here is Adreno 640 and does come with AIE(Artificial Intelligence Engine) Technology.
Qualcomm’s Hexagon 690 Processor is used as DSP(Digital Signal Processor).
On the front, there is 6.39-inches 19.5:9 FHD+ AMOLED HDR Display without any notch and Just Minimal bezels but cannot be termed as Bezel-Less.
Xiaomi has been touting it as a TrueView Multi-Adaptive pressure-sensitive Display which offers response rate of up to 240 Hz and a response time of 43.5 ms.
“This provides you with fast inputs that give you the competitive edge you need in action games and shooters.”-Xiaomi
But the maximum brightness is just 450-nit which shouldn’t be a problem in daily usage but we expected better for the price we are paying.
Apart from the display, there is a front selfie camera about which we will talk later and Dual Front Firing Stereo Speakers.
Whereas on the back, there is Vertical Dual Camera setup, Black Shark Branding a Design that is unique and not usual at all.
Unfortunately, there is no 3.5mm Headphone jack this time.
There is Vertical Dual camera setup at the back consisting of a 48-Megapixel Shooter with an aperture of f/1.75 and 0.8µm pixel size, and an another 12-Megapixel Telephoto Shooter with an aperture of f/2.2 which will offer 2x Optical Zoom.
While the front camera is a 20-Megapixel Shooter with an Aperture of f/2.0 without any flash for selfies.
As of now, the device can only shoot up to 4k@30fps which is acceptable considering it be a Gaming Centric Smartphone.
So what do we think about this device is that this is literally the best buy you can get if you are looking for a Unique phone without any compromise. The only compromise is 3.5mm Headphone jack but even the OnePlus 7 doesn’t come with one.
Literally, at the price of ₹39,999, you cannot get anything better.
Although if gaming is your priority but cannot spend much, we highly suggest you to wait for the launch of Redmi K20 Plus and Poco F2 in India.
